Where is my data stored?
Your dreams, check-ins, reminders, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Afterglow does not require an account.
What does Backup Export include?
The free JSON backup includes written entries, metadata, tags, moods, check-ins, and other saved journal structure. Voice recording audio files remain on-device and are not included.
Why does transcription ask for Afterglow Plus?
Voice recording is available for all users. Turning a saved voice note into text is a Plus feature.
How do I restore purchases?
Open Settings inside Afterglow and use Restore Purchases from the Plus section.
How do reminders work?
Morning reminders and reality check reminders are local notifications controlled by you and by iOS notification permissions.
Helpful troubleshooting
- If reminders do not appear, check iPhone Settings → Notifications → Afterglow.
- If recording is unavailable, check microphone permission in iPhone Settings.
